Network Marketing Tips: How to Deal with Struggling Teammates

If you’re growing a business in Network Marketing, you’ve most likely faced situations with struggling teammates that haven’t seen the success in their business like they imagined they would.


This can be due to a number of reasons; they have a lottery ticket mindset, they had mixed expectations prior to getting started, or their work ethic doesn’t match their goals.


Here are a few tips that will help you when dealing with struggling teammates in your Network Marketing business.

1. Setting the Right Expectations


Most new distributors view Network Marketing as their “lottery ticket” towards getting rich and changing their entire life around in a few months. I do agree that this profession is a great vehicle to change your life and create massive success as long as you work your ass off for it.


That’s why it’s important to chat with your new distributor BEFORE signing up to set the right expectations that they will be their own success or failure, not you. Also, another tip, is to let your new distributor understand how much work they will have to put in (daily) in order to achieve their goals. You can’t just sign up, talk to 20 people, and then call it quits.


I already hear people saying, “Well, won’t you lose sign up’s if you tell people they have to work their ass off?


Yeah. That’s the point. I’d rather have a small amount of Generals who know how to use their weapons versus an entire army of soldiers who are easily defeated and give up.


2. Give Them Homework First


So, you know how I send prospects a video to present the business first instead of going over any questions they might have? Yeah, I do that to same myself time so the video can present the business opportunity AS WELL AS “weed out” the bullshitters.


A video separates the bullshitters from the builders. The builders see it as an opportunity to make money with an investment. The bullshitters see it as spending money and HOPE to make profit.


Same idea with sending a video to your struggling teammates in Network Marketing.


Let’s say a teammate comes to you and says, “I haven’t signed someone up in 2 months..can we jump on the phone quick?” I always give them homework first to see if they deserve my time. By the way, if “deserve my time” offends you or doesn’t sit right with you – change your mindset. You can always replenish money (you get paid weekly), but you can never replenish your time.


The best way to see if struggling teammates deserve your time is by sending them a quick video that gives them direction on how to overcome their struggle AND ALSO gets them to take action. In this example of someone who hasn’t signed someone in 2 months…a quick video that breaks down how many people they should be talking to daily, how to present the business the right way using scripts, and how to follow up. At the end of the video, it should give them a call to action to go talk to X amount of people.


IF THEY DO THE HOMEWORK, then they get your time. 


In conclusion…


I’ll be doing an insanely valuable training in the next few days for my VIP Community Group called The BREAKFREE Project and showing people exactly what activities they should be doing daily to push their business forward.


However, if you have struggling teammates, just know that success in Network Marketing doesn’t require a high IQ level or super amazing human strengths. You just have to be willing to put in the work daily, building up that momentum, and working on yourself daily to have the patience/mindset that everything will work out as long as you’re consistent.
